This is the new look of Team India. Same colours for the Blue Brigade. But with a difference in the design.
It’s simple. More blue. Fewer shades of saffron. And India written much bolder than title sponsor Oppo’s logo in front.
The jersey is launched by Board of Control for Cricket in India’s kit partner Nike in Hyderabad today (Friday) on the sidelines of the team’s practice for the first One Day International against Australia.
Senior sports and cricket writer Chetan Narula has shared Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virat Kohli and Harmanpreet Kaur’s pictures in India’s new jersey on his twitter handle.
The dress is launched for the ICC World Cup in England and Wales. India play their first game on June 5 against South Africa. The tournament in England and Wales will be played from May 30 to July 14.
Nike, keeping with the tradition, has revealed the team colours well in advance for the ICC World Cup.
The team along with the official apparel partner Nike launched the new jersey at a simple ceremony at the Rajiv Gandhi cricket stadium in Hyderabad.
The jersey includes many features like looks, a theme in design, comfort in wearing, sweat absorption and everything else that may potentially bring the best out of a player.
The jersey features three stars on the inside at the back, signifying India’s three World Cup titles (two ODI World Cup and one T20I World Cup). Along with the stars, the dates, scores and co-ordinates of the venues of Team India’s World Cup triumphs have also been inscribed.
India have been sporting the three stars on their jersey for sometime now but for the first time the three stars will be seen at the back of the jersey.
In the past, Nike has come up with some fantastic designs. For the 2015 World, it introduced a unique jersey made up of recycled plastic bottles. In 2016, a four-way stretch designed was introduced right before the start of the ICC T20 World Cup.
While the World Cup starts on 30 May, the Indian team will be in action from 6 June, when they will play South Africa in Southampton in their campaign opener.
In a major resignation for the outfit of the Indian National Cricket Team, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has planned to launch New Jersey for the Indian national cricket team a few weeks before the ICC World Cup 2019.
In collaboration with the leading sportswear brand Nike, the BCCI is going to unveil the new look of the Indian national team’s jersey in Hyderabad on March 1, which is a day before the first ODI against Australia.
This year, playing their first ODI match in Indian condition, men in blue will face Australia, which is to be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on March 2.
While disclosing this news, notable sports journalist and broadcaster Chetan Narula tweeted, “Since this is the World Cup year. Team India’s new Nike One Day Jersey will be launched in Hyderabad on March 1. “
After an old tradition of launching a new jersey just a month before the start of World Cup’s major global event, BCCI has started launching all new jerseys again before the World Cup 2019. In 2015, the Indian cricket team got New Jersey just before the tri-series with England and Australia.
The forthcoming Cricket World Cup is scheduled to start in England and Wales, which will be played in England and Wales twice, India has won twice – in 1983, Kapil Dev and captaincy of 2011 in the captaincy of MS Dhoni – and now the team will have their eyes in England. The third title is.
