Liam Plunkett
Liam Plunkett is the ultimate journeyman as he continues his international career for England 14 years after his Test debut. First appearing in 2005 against Pakistan in Lahore, he played nine matches before being dumped from the national side. He then made a return to the England Test team in 2014 where he took 5-64 against Sri Lanka in Leeds, his best Test figures. He hasn’t since added to his total of 13 Test caps for England. Plunkett’s short-form career has followed a similar path to his Test fortunes. He debuted in 2005 before being dropped in 2007, he then played two games in 2010-11 before another four years on the outer. A resurgence in his 30s has seen Plunkett sign an IPL contract with the Delhi Daredevils and add to his ODI and T20I appearances. A reliable and accurate seamer, he can often be found keeping run-rates low in the middle of an innings.
